Whozintown Launches Beta at UK Business Travel Show - March 2008

A new business and social networking site aimed at cutting company's travel costs was launched at the Business Travel Show. Whozintown.net is the brainchild of Businesstaxis managing director Paul Stanyer and business travel veterans Andrew Montgomery and David Henderson.

The web portal gives business travellers the space to share their travel plans with the website's members. Allowing them to communicate with each other and arrange meetings.

The three entrepreneurs said they came up with the idea after being frustrated by years of "dead time" while travelling on business. On a recent trip Stanyer found himself in a situation where a business networking website would have saved him time and money: "I was in the hotel bar catching up with paper work. It wasn't until I was about to leave that I realised a contact of mine, whom I was due to meet to discuss business, had been sitting in the bar at the same time. Had we known we were both going to be in the same place at the same time, it would have been an ideal opportunity to do business?"

Business travellers can sign up to the free site, which has already been populated by the business/holidaytaxis database, at whozintown.net
